I originally completed this costume in 2009 and have since retired it.
I love Final Fantasy games, and Rikku was one of my favorite characters in X-2 (I didn't much like her in X :P)
I don't have too much to say about this costume, just because I did it so long ago.
All in all it took about 5 days to make because I was on a crazy hectic schedule trying to get it done before a convention I decided to attend last minute, but I wore it off and on until about 2012, so it had a good run.
From top to bottom:
The wig was originally a microfiber one I bought because I didn't know better. It had to be replaced immediately after the first con. The second wig was made out of futura and lasted a lot longer. I still have it and I plan to use it for when I cosplay Angemon.
The bikini top was made out of a jersey fabric, with bra cup inserts to help it keep its shape. If you're making this costume, I recommend going with a different type of fabric.
The skirt is a faux suede in a dark brown. I chose faux suede because it would hold its shape and it's easier to sew than real suede (not to mention a lot less warm). I has since been recycled into my Ewok costume, which has become my go-to back up for when I either don't finish a costume for a particular event, or if I just want to wear something comfortable.
the boots were actually made by a seller on ebay, and they are white leather and vinyl with rubber soles. I had to add the laces myself, but they were just cheap yellow drawstring.
The thief blades are really simple. They were made from wood, then sanded and painted. They're a little heavy.
The accessories such as the pouches, belt and earrings were all made with various materials. Message me if you want specific details.
