I wanted to use a heavier fabric for the jacket so that it would be stiffer, but I was low on time to dye fabric, and JoAnn's was having a huge sale on country classic solids, so I ended up getting some yellow cotton fabric. It's fairly flimsy, but it's better than it was thanks to interfacing and lining, so it's a light jacket, which I guess was appropriate for Otakon. The collar is made out of a heavier fabric I found that I also interfaced. The shorts are a bottomweight fabric I also found at JoAnn's, and I bought OTK black socks and painted on the designs at the top of the socks. I also bought a black hat and painted on the designs on some gray fabric, which I then attached to the hat. Hard to see because they roll down sometimes, but I also have a layer of stretchy gray fabric over the socks by the top of the shoe. I already had a white shirt to use for this costume, and I made the blue tie out of some blue fabric I had on hand, though I'm not totally happy with it, and I'll be making it out of better fabric. I'll also be fitting the jacket so that it flatters me more.
